Nearing Work Days

I was such a good girl today. :D Woke up at 7:30am, did some writing (kelong zine in the making finally!) until about 3pm, scanned the images (damn my irritating scanner) until 4:30pm, and then have been unpacking my things from storage ever since. The house's finally painted (some light brownish colour i chose from the catalog, but turned out pinkish after it dried) , but the renovation's not over. Cupboards still have to be installed in the kitchen and rooms. When can i get my hamster? :(

Anyway, happily putting my books back on the shelf and cleaning the dust off them. Dug out my chinese brush painting tools and saw that they have become moldy. Yucks. Took them for a soaking in detergent. Had wanted to throw them away, but on second thoughts - they cost me 60 bucks! Washed a couple of other stuff as well. Wiped the tables with lavender wet wipes. Everything smells good now. Still some packing to be done. Will be headed back as soon as i finish here.

Talking about chinese painting, examination results have been released. S for painting!! Relieved. All the anticipation, all over in less than a few seconds when the results flashes on your screen. As exciting as STARS. Semester GPA dropped by almost 0.5 even though i have one less module to study for this semester. Haha.

Spent Christmas evening at nell's home and had one tequila shot and two cosmos (courtesy of one of her brothers). Heh, surprisingly i didn't get drunk. :D Couldn't sleep at night though, felt very awake. Might alcohol be my coffee (totally will not keep me awake, only gives headaches)? Played games, enjoyed a concert of exclusive nell piano pieces and yummy food. Lovely evening. :)

The last time i tried to cycle was way back many many years ago when fang tried to teach me when the group of us were at ECP. Obviously still unable to cycle. Recently had another lesson at nell's place. Cycling is hard for exercise idiots like me! I still have bruises and a scab on my elbow (hand scraped the wall). Hahaha. Good coach lousy student. Fail!

Hmm. Finally finished watching my HK drama. Hated the ending, slightly cliche (wife thought husband died in battle, but turns out he didn't, he lost his memory and they met by chance on the streets one fine day) and i wanted the girl to be with someone else. Heh. Seeing that the main protagonist is a female who swears by doing good, couldn't help but draw comparisons with some local chinese dramas. I cannot help but dislike the "heroine" from 2 shows (one currently playing now). While all 3 women professes to do good, i totally cannot stand the 2 local ones. Self righteous and holier-than-thou, compared to the HK one, who does good with tact and is more flexible (although it kind of feels a bit too good to be true). Not sure if it's the local actress or just the role itself. The rare times i catch the shows, i applaud every misfortune that befalls the character. She totally deserves it for being so stubborn and inflexible.

Still no news about my camera even though i emailed them. Think can only be collected next year. ;(

The other day, i was on the hill, woke up at about 10-ish, lazed on the bed and played handphone games till 12-ish, woke up for lunch (after washing up of course!), took out my book (managed to find the book i read halfway and had to return the other time) to read. Read until 3-ish and the eyelids fell heavy, so i took a nap until 6-ish. Woke up naturally of course. Spent the rest of the night alternating between book and television. Such is the life!

"Luxury is sleeping and waking up whenever you want to." - a certain lazy someone.

I have quite a ton of snacks to clear before the new year, so here's hoping i won't fall sick any time soon. Happy New Year's Eve Eve.

Started out yesterday feeling so restless i tried my best to irritate every one in the house. Hahahaha. I'm good at irritating people. Did end the day good though. Helped my auntie wrap her presents. Wasn't keen to help at all in the first place, but i saw how she wrapped her first present and decided to be charitable.

Was snooping around my ibank thing and saw that i had spent 800 plus dollars this month. I DO NOT RECALL SPENDING SO MUCH. I didn't buy much stuff did i? :(

Went scouting for internship clothes with nell on Wednesday. Bought 2 blue blouses, 1 blue cardigan and 2 pairs of dark blue jeans. Only when i came back and showed off my purchases did i realised that i bought everything in dark blue! Aiyoh, i'm going to look like i'm wearing a uniform. Will probably need to get a couple more tops, in whites i suppose.

Realised i haven't done much crafting except buying crafts supplies. Where has my holidays gone?

I want my camera back! Ugh, still no word from the service center. Slow pokes.

^ LOVE the cj fries.

^ My last box of shapes. Best is still the herbs one.

^ Suddenly interested in paper toys. They hated it! Sighs. I love fried chicken. Think the airport branch is still the best. The amk outlet is noisy as hell, have to shout to be heard.

Woke up today with a Christmas greeting from a new pimple on the nose.

Merry Christmas.

Sometimes some things happen happen so often you start to notice them less and less. Like say some one's prone to breakdowns, you start to notice the signs less and less. Why so?

Went to repair my camera today. All the way at Habourfront. Circle line is fun, seats all the way. Place was quite a walk from the train station but relatively easy to find. Lucky there was no queue. In and out within 15 minutes. Have to be back there to collect the camera in 3 days time. The girl tells me it's a contact problem.

Called the dentist today. Appointments are fully booked until April. Guess i have to go to a private one. If i wait that long, i think the tooth will be decayed by then.

Managed to get 60% of the things i need today. And some other surprise buys.

Time please slow down.

Flat Battery, Kelong, Life

Back from kelong! Hahaha. Probably first and last time there.

Initially time was super hard to pass. There wasn't anything to do unless you are keen on fishing. The fish are elusive though. But it's exciting to see people reel in their catch. Saw fish i've never seen before in real life. Some people played mahjong the whole day. Isn't it a waste? Instead of enjoying nature, people chose to play mahjong which they could bloody well play at home? Anyway, if the sun wasn't so terribly scorching, i wouldn't mind sitting out in the deck chair, enjoying the breeze. The breeze was good. Fresh. Pity the breeze waned in the evening. Got myself a sunburn. Haven't gotten one in a long long long time. Not that i don't like the sun, i do, but i don't stay out in the open much. Maybe i should. Don't particularly like looking dark though. Seems dirty. Anyway, at least there was nell and her bro to play games with. Cannot imagine being out there among strangers. I wonder why people love going there. Nothing much going on. Dinner was so-so. Thought it would be the highlight of the trip, but turned out to be simple home-cooked stuff. Hehe. Greedy pig i am. Refused to sleep on their mattresses. Who knows how many ah pek bodies have slept on them? And the pillows, drool anyone? Instead, slept on the deck chairs facing the sea with the sky as a blanket. Haha. Cheese. Didn't really sleep though, drifted in and out of sleep. Heard snatches of people's conversation; people walked up and around us. A lot of smokers out there. Stupid chain smoking uncles. Must have inhaled enough smoke to be considered a smoker myself. ;( Was glad when morning came and we could go back home! :D Felt a bit disjointed about time after the kelong. I still feel like today's Sunday. But then good experience nonetheless. At least i can proudly say i've been to a kelong before.

^ Boarding bumboat at the boat place at Changi.

^ Forgot how nice it was to bob about in the sea. Seafood yeenoodles, steamboat and cereal prawns. Forgot to take a pic of the pepper crab. I think steamed crabs are nicer.

^ Night and fish.

^ Supper. Most delicious dish of the night are the stingrays. Yum.

^ Nell and i had a Survivor moment. Eating tiny fish cooked over fire without any seasoning. Tasted like fish i guess. Good protein if we were really on Survivor. Hahaha.

^ After breakfast it was goodbye kelong!

Got back home after kelong and took a long 20 minute bath. 20 minutes feels like eternity under normal circumstances. Applied some body lotion (Christmas present i got 2 years ago) today. I don't normally like to apply stuff on my body lest it gets on to all my pillows and bolsters and sleeping buddies. But then my arms are truly hurting. They look like cooked lobster claws.

Terrible me, came back home and felt so super lazy i haven't called the dentist. I finished a book and played handphone games till the battery went flat. Have to go get some presents tomorrow, maybe might as well get the camera fixed? Not to forget the kelong zine! Which hopefully i will start on later. Need to slack a bit more.

I think most probably will want to get the wisdom tooth removed. Not that it's causing pain or anything. But it's so hard to get the toothbrush all the way back there to brush properly. My jaw's hurting from opening the mouth too wide and forcing my toothbrush all the way back there. At this rate, tooth's gonna be decayed soon. Rather than wait until the thing decays and cause pain, now seems like a good time to remove?

Random thought: Why do people want to drive noisy motorbikes? Don't they know that other people curse them all the time for causing noise pollution? Why would people voluntarily want to get cursed?

Ooh. Drama at home. It is tiring to live with other people.

Wish time would slow down just a little. Wish i am more disciplined about brewing and drinking my teas. I still have my tea from taiwan and the ikea vanilla and rhubarb tea.

My skills of spinning tales put to good use here. Remember how last time i posted some fact or fiction stories here? There were compiled into zine some time ago. And then nell and i did number two. Coming up with fake stories is fun. Finding true stories not so fun. Reading the stories is the most fun. Read mine on the train today. Loves it! Hahaha, self praise. Seriously some people like have nothing better to than to post retarded messages on other people's fb fan page. Really funny some comments. Anyway, haven't had starbucks for a long long time. Atas bubble tea. Today i picked up $2 from the floor. :D Lucky. So many people walked by without seeing it. I just happened to look down at my bag to take out my ezlink card and saw from the corner of my eye. Money face. Haha.

^ I remember taking a photo of the bear Christmas tree at Taka last year. Last year's was green. This year's red. The photo with the 3 bears made me squeal at kino. :) I want one of the helpless bears. Talking about bears. Bought a new book today. Some how feeling the need to buy something for myself. So i did. Forgot to bring my discount coupon. :/ In the shopping mood. But there's not much to buy other than books. Got those wassants again. Yum yum.

Received news about internship early this week. Smart casual dress code. :( Got to get some new sets of clothes. Hate office wear. While people are busy buying going out clothes for the new year, i have to get office wear. Bleah.

Can't wait for kelong on Saturday. All the seafood! And sea wind. Hope it's not too smelly. Potential zine from the trip.

Got some good books from the library just now. Fruitful.

Thinking of visiting the dentist next week. So 1 day taken up by camera, one day taken up by dentist. Should i squeeze both within a day? Then don't have to get out of the house twice. But then what if i am too weak to go anywhere else after the dentist. Haha. Have some phobia about going to the dentist. It's a place i associate with pain. Dreaded dentists ever since visiting those primary school dental clinics. Always come out of the place with a mouth full of blood taste. I remember once i had a loose tooth, the nurse asked me if i wanted it removed. I said no, but she removed it anyway. Hurt like hell. I almost fainted at the dentist once. At this private dental clinic, had a tooth removed, and the dentist asked if i wanted to keep the tooth. He showed me the bloody tooth, fresh from the gums. Haha i stood up from the chair, tried to walk out of the door, but i saw stars and had to lie down on the sofa for a while. When i had braces on, i kept missing appointments because of school, or sometimes it's really forgotten about it, and every time i'll get scolded by the dentist for missing appointments. And he always told my mom that i am getting skinnier and skinnier. Tsk tsk tsk.

I hate doing admin stuff for myself. Like applying for things, sorting out bills, making appointments... But i love doing it for other people. Haha weird. Got to call canon and the dental clinic next week. Lazy.

Been eating vegetable rice for the past few days. Needs the vegetables. Usually hate eating vegetable rice, but no choice. :(

Happily enjoying the precious holidays. :)

Some disappointment with sims, can't seem to play the new game. Trawled the net for fixes, but perhaps i'm too much of a non-techie, still can't find any. Maybe there's too much information also. Gives one a headache. Ended up having to uninstall all the sims. Terrible disappointment.

Been trying to help my mom find her watch. In the thick of the construction, everything is not where it's supposed to be. So much mess. Like, cheesy as it sounds, finding a needle in the haystack. Proof:

On the other hand, kitchen's bare and stripped clean.

^ Studying on the bed. On Friday, can't be bothered to unpack. Bags and all strewn on the table and got some new drinks to go with new snacks!

^ Nell's mom got me a huge pack of fishballs! Aiyoh, these are the best fishballs i've eaten. It's not very salty and no strong fishy smell. Delicious! The size's just nice for non-stop popping into the mouth. And sour sweet! Hehehe. If you ever see me wanting to buy sweets, please discourage me. I really have tons of sweets at home. 3 small boxes of tictac (2 eaten half way), one big box of tictac unopened, half a pack of skittles, half a box of mints, half a packet of starbursts, one packet of unopened mint drops, one packet of rock candy, half a packet of swirl candy, 3 big packs of gum, and these are the only ones i remember. Probably more at B (sweets from italy most probably). No one eats sweets at home, so it's only me. SO, IF YOU SEE ME WANTING TO BUY SWEETS, STOP ME! Sometimes i can't help it when i see nice packaging. And hazel came back with Indian Lays. Hahahaha. My favourite ridge cut chips. Looks good, going to save it for a while.

Anyway, you guys are not going to believe it, but my first sewing student is...

^ Hahaha, it's not that unbelievable actually. Sewing is easy, as hazel can now proudly declare. She managed to sew 2 pouches in about 4 hours.

^ Proud of her creations. Unfortunately the pouch's not for me, in case you are wondering. Common name. Lucky recipients of hazel's first sewing attempt. Such a good effort.

Something is wrong with either my camera or the batteries or the battery charger. Because even after i've charged the batteries fully, the camera registers the battery as having low power even though they are are fully charged.

And some family in the opposite block is pissing me off. Yesterday, they spent the whole afternoon and evening belting out songs on their sound system. Can you imagine, it's the opposite block and i can hear it as clearly as if they are only next door. Today the karaoke-ing continues. Extreme noise pollution. Wonder how their neighbours feel. Why isn't anyone lodging complaints? Hope their sound system explodes.

Ok, i leave you with 2 more pictures before i have lunch and head to kino.

^ Mom glamming it up with pearls and egg with twin yolks!

Supposed to start to do some reading for the paper on Friday... At least i know to feel guilty.

Been having fun surfing etsy for the entire day. So many fun things to look at. Talking about etsy, shop's been pretty quiet for a while now. Made a couple of new stuff over the past 2 days. Will get them up prolly next week. Hahaha, no sales still ngei ngei want to sell.

Got my eyes on another japanese craft book. Kino should hold more sales. Can't wait to go check out the book soon. Learned something new today. Did you know you don't have to use detergent to wash dishes? Just one piece of tawashi たわし will do. It's this japanese wash cloth made from acrylic yarn. I <strike>hear</strike> read any sort of acrylic yarn works fine. Will be making one for the house to try. Thinking of making one like a plushie, but so evil right, use a cute doll to scrub dishes. But, just thinking about it makes me laugh. Use the plushie's mouth to scrub the curry off the plate. Heehee.

Am going to start full time sim-ing come Saturday.

Spilled water on my study buddy just now, oops. Thankfully, it was only plain water.
This is like the longest weeks of exams for me. Got a one week "study week" for 2 papers. Then now a 9 day break til the next paper.

Going to slack a few days first. Hahaha. Today had McD's new teppanyaki burger meal UPSAI for dinner. Shared the chicken, seaweed flies and cokers with ah ma. Mini reward for having gone through more than half of exams.

Forensics paper was so so so much easier compared to astro and bio pop. Not that i'm going to ace it or what, but i know i should most probably pass it. Compared to astro and bio pop where you come out dazed, this one you come out feeling quite alright. So hopefully won't do too poorly! Exam started out so rushed. Went into the wrong hall then ended up rushing downstairs to the right place and sat down just as the announcer said "you may now turn over the question paper". Hilarious.

Today's paper was media management. Cue the sound effect, kua kua kua... Studied so much, end up using less than half of what was taught. Terrible. :(

One more intensive paper to go. Then no more exams for a long time. :)

Can't wait for the holidays, last year this time i was already living the good life for some days. So you can understand why i am already in the holiday mood. Hopefully getting a newww hamster after the last paper. I'm calling it HamHam. So cuuute.

So many exciting things to do in so little time. Cut out many many felties to sew before this exam madness started. Then recently printed so many new patterns in an attempt to max out the printing credits i have in school. Thanks to my amazing research skills, found so many patterns. The web is truly amazing and so many generous people sharing info. Will probably embark on a more intensive search campaign when i have the time. No shows to catch up on, since i have been faithfully watching them even though it's the exam period. Dunno why such a slacker this sem. Might get some games to pass the time. And a couple of books i want to read. Read one halfway but got to return to the library. Hope to find it again. And then a new pet to play with. Also got to go out and do some feasting. And also feel like getting new craft books. And potentially going to a kelong! Hahaha.

Oops forgot to update about the home A situation. Renovating still in the works. Probably have to move back to B for a few days cos they are installing a new gas stove. Everything is in a mess because things from the kitchen and storeroom are now all over the place. Got some photos will post when free. Also, i think some time soon the painters will come over to paint. Hope it's after my paper. If not got to stay at B for the rest of this week and next. Even though i quite like the smell of paint, it gives me a headache if i sniff it for too long.

OK! Trying to stay positive!

Long studying days are such a torture. Started out pretty cool. Keep thinking that there's still many more days to study, so have been taking it sloooow, happily waking up at times i desire. But it's Saturday already. Sort of in a flash, but sort of not. Happy that it's going to be over soon, also starting to panic (whether studied enough). Like that there's time to prepare, but also so much time leads to time to think about all sorts of nonsense.

Sorry incoherent post. Cos that's how i am feeling now. Like too much things swimming around in my head.

Had a nightmare last night. Hahaha. You are not going to believe it. Dreamed that i was chased by giant hamsters that look like they want to bite me. Anyway the dream was a three-parter.

First part was this hamster story. I went back to B and saw saw dust on the floor, then i looked up and saw a hamster cage. Peered into it, this yellow hamster head looked back at me. It was a giant hamster. I'm kinda disgusted by large hamsters, so i backed away. Then i saw another hamster cage. There was a big grey hamster inside smiling at me. Then i went to brush my teeth (so random right), and as i was brushing, looked up and saw 6 hamsters on this self above my head. They were like lying down flat on their tummies (look so damn cute), but when they saw me looking, all jumped off. One even jumped onto my head. Then suddenly 2 giant giant hamsters started chasing me. I was running, then picked up this plastic container lid and tried to swat this hamster away from me. But the hamster turned out to be a sticker on a plastic sheet? Weird.

Second part was a bunch of people and i were talking by this staircase by a field. People were setting up tents in the field. Then suddenly we were in this classroom for a art class. Guess what were we learning?! How to make felt mascots. I was actually excited about this. Thinking why is this so cool. Then we were given some patterns to cut and start doing (i was disappointed i didn't get the patrick starfish pattern), suddenly i'm back at home happily filing the free pattern i got. I woke up thinking i really got that pattern in my file.

Third part was this dream i've had before. I was reading some book about some weird dark stuff. Suddenly i am backstage at some filming location. And i am supposed to get onto stage with a bunch of other people chanting some war/curse chant? The person told us to just mumble anything we like. Then we were all at the stage in a row, this guy beside me had to pull out some sword thing from a ball of clay (my role was this the last time i had this dream), but he couldn't.

And i am awake!

Oops, exceeded 20 minutes.

Construction's a bitch!

Ok, so i headed for the hills from Wednesday 'til late last night. Wednesday i spent most of the day at the auntie's house (across a few streets from home B), to orientate the grandma into her new lodgings for the next few weeks. In sum, zero work done even tho there was going to be a paper due Friday.

So Thursday, i had to head over again, because the auntie had to go out. Half the day gone, after which i had to go to the library to get some research for the paper. And then got home, had dinner and marathon-ed the paper til 2:30am. Paper still not done! Only about two and a half pages. Was planning to stay up all night to finish it, but really by 2am my brain was not working anymore.

Friday got up at 7am to continue marathon-ing. Deadline was 5pm. Managed to hit 4 pages by noon. Headed to the library to email the thing. Headed to auntie's place again, because she had to go out again. Another wasted day cos there was nothing to do 'cept watch TV or nap.

Saturday morning, had breakfast at home, then headed to auntie's place again, because again she had to go out. Planned to leave early and head back to A, but then it started raining so heavily. So bb, stayed until 7:30pm, had to leave even tho it's still raining heavily. Managed to make it back to A at about 9pm.

Here comes the construction horror tales.

I wonder how all the tables are so dusty even tho they are covered by plastic sheets?! Are the dust specks so small they can permeate through the plastic? So everything is covered up, limited places to sit. Either hard plastic stools or the comfortable grand ah ma chair. But there are 3 butts and only 1 grand ah ma chair. Having to wear slippers at home feels like i'm living in hall. Gahhh. Somehow feel that everything is dirty.

The two toilets have been knocked out completely and i see this temporary toilet in the middle of the kitchen. A very primitive kind of toilet, the squat kind with no flush. So after your business you had to pour water in it to "flush". We heard from a neighbour that the thing doesn't flush down bulky things, so, only for peeing. Then there is a single shower head right on top of the squat. I wonder how people can shower in there? Wouldn't water from the squat splash out? It's so so small. Will have photos later, now i don't know where is the camera cable. There is only one water tap in the house and we can't really use it because the pipes are leaky and will affect this cement thing on the floor. I am not too clear about the connections, i just know we can't really use water. Since there is not water, had to go down to the temporary toilets downstairs. Had to go brush my teeth there last night. Since there are no sinks, went to the ONE shower stall to brush. Floor is wet and muddy. Didn't dare use the toilets. So i haven't gone to the toilet from 8pm last night.

This morning, the auntie went down to brush her teeth and came back reporting that someone/something had done the big one in the shower stall. She said she smelled something bad even before she pushed open the door. So disgusting. Really stupid irresponsible people in the world. So i had to use the tap in the house to brush my teeth. SO MUCH BETTER. I refuse to go downstairs. Had to pee and move the bowels in the morning, so i had to choice but to go downstairs. Armed myself with half a roll of toilet roll before heading down. They don't have loo paper in those stalls so you have to bring your own. Anyway, the neighbour saw me and asked if i wanted to use their toilet. But then, aiyoh, embarrassing right, to stink up people's toilets. So i made it quick. Dash in, dash out.

As for sleep, they dismantled the bed i used to sleep in, so there is only one double decker in the house and 3 bodies. One slept in the lower bunk, the other refused to sleep on the upper deck, and instead chose to sleep on the ah ma chair, so i took the upper bunk. Mattress a bit dusty, i kept sneezing non-stop.

We heard from my uncle that one of the workers tried to steal my auntie's ez-link card (which she dropped on the floor). Caught red handed by him and even denied, saying "i want to return to auntie". Uncle said he looked shifty and kept looking over his shoulders. Auntie was saying how lazy the workers were. They refused to help you mop and sweep the floor (they are required to), until you bribe them with food. That day she asked one of the guys to help her sweep the floor cos it they haven't swept for 2 days, and he kinda ignored her and looked unhappy. After that, she took out 2 apples for him and his friend, then they smiled and went to sweep the floor. We heard the same thing from our neighbour. There was some problem with their bathroom tiles and he asked the workers to go in and fix it, again they were unhappy. Then the neighbour took out some jellies (leftovers from Deepavali he said) for them, and they happily went to help him. Just yesterday, my auntie bought some crackers and left it on the table. Then one of them asked her if she can let him have it. Which my auntie did. She said "see they like quite poor thing". And they keep asking for water. My mom's been buying bottled water by the dozens. On one hand they seem quite poor thing, but on the other hand they try to steal stuff, so i don't know what to make of them.

The neighbours have really been very helpful during the construction. They kept offering tips and stuff. Cos we are the last house on the floor to have the construction.

And we have been eating tapao-ed food for almost a week.

If it were the holidays i would gladly stay on my hill, but with school, you have so many things to do. Pay per use internet rates are so unaffordable. So there you have it. Going to be 1.5 more weeks of hell.

Went for an interview today. Think i sucked at it! Hahaha. Kinda blanked out for a while while the interviewer was telling me some things about programming. After that she asked me if i had any questions and i just had nothing to ask because i wasn't really paying attention. Don't know what is wrong with me. Might be the weather. The office is on a hill, and you have to climb up steps of death (certainly rivals the one in school) to reach the area. I was panting and perspiring slightly more than halfway through and had to stop to catch my breath. Speaks volumes about my level of fitness. When i made it to level ground i realised their office was on the third level; no lift. Up six more flights of stairs. Didn't go straight in when i got to the office. Had to stand outside to cool down, wipe dry, comb hair and catch my breath. If i do get the internship there, it could be a good thing, i will have extremely toned legs after 6 months. And maybe lose my pot belly. Free StairMaster. Anyway, think i did pretty badly at the interview. Blabs. And, a secret of mine got exposed accidentally. Tsk me.

So, construction is underway! Cupboards in the room and kitchen were torn out.

^ Everything has to be covered up.

^ Disgusting kitchen after the cabinets were removed. It was 7 plus and i was trying to get as much rest as i could. Hmm, pretty inconsiderate of them. At first i thought it was the qigong aunties, but then i woke up and looked out the window...

During construction time, i will be away at another hill, my own B, and cut off from the rest of the world. Should have known, but i had one last night for supper and all was fine. Now i know.

DYK, my chinese brush painting skills have gotten up a notch! My first one was a C, then subsequently, i had C+s and my last two paintings have gone up one level. To C++. Maybe i'll move up another level to C+++ with my grapes painting this week. Just been informed that we have to produce a final painting (anything you want) on the last day of class and write an essay on experiences. Already S/U-ed the thing.

^ Orchids and chickens. Other than that, blah week. Thursday i finally finished my marathon of Moonlight Resonance. So satisfying. The more evil the villain, the more satisfying the happy ending. Hahaha. Much as i don't believe in happy endings, i love to see them. One can dream... Friday i caught up with some shows, then went out a bit. Saturday i woke up early, then went back to bed, then started crafting in the evening. This is the life!

^ Cute look chicken soup. I snack, i drink, i craft at my computer table. And also occasionally try doing readings as i wait for things to load.

Hate the upgrading/renovations thing. The entire place is in a mess. Things are strewn all over the place. It only took me 10 minutes to clear out my stuff though. Haha. Maybe i'm so used to shuttling between places. My things are always in a ready-to-go state. Just collect and put in carrier bags and i'm ready to go. Should the building collapse, i already know what is important to grab and run. Hahaha. Touch wood. Not exactly sure if i am moving back to B during the construction. On a hill, away from civilisation (internet). Hmmm.

I was about to prepare my bag and clothes for tomorrow when i realised there's no school tomorrow. Happy thoughts. I still sent them over. What can i do with those 2 pieces anyway. I have no interest in Sanrio stuff. After this bulk order experience, NO MORE! I shall limit my custom order to 10 pieces maximum, unless the other party is willing to wait. Intensive sewing is just too taxing. The whole term break was burned up making these felts.

Construction going on. Noise and dust pollution. Today i felt the worse of it. Whole day pounding and drilling away. When you walk into the room closest to where the works are, the floor is coated with a thick layer of dust. Really, there's no point sweeping, because 10 minutes after sweeping, a fresh coat settles, and it's dusty again. And the noise... We have to turn the TV way up to hear anything at all. And it's no point trying to hold any conversation, because you have to shout, and it's just too tiring.

I don't know what's gotten into me this semester. Totally not motivated at all. I have not touched anything school related since last Tuesday. My readings are all not done, and there's a mid-term to study for (i'm 2 lectures behind), and a project. So many things.

The bulk order is killing me, i've been making them since Wednesday, and i've only got 9 (i'm supposed to make 26) now. But i got all the pieces cut out, so hopefully i can get everything ready by tomorrow, and then try and do some school stuff. I don't think i'll take on any more bulk orders in the near future. All the hard work is killing my interest. I like to do things slow. Fast work makes ugly pieces.

Last week i tried on this face mask, the paste kind, for the first time. Didn't expect it to hurt like hell. Anyway rookie mistake, i didn't realise that i shouldn't get that muck on my eyebrows. When it came time to peel the thing off, i thought my brows were going to all come out, and i have to tattoo on new eyebrows. It didn't, but really i felt i am tearing off my own skin. Why would anyone subject themselves to such pain! Those paper masks are so much more convenient.

Hate that school is kicking my ass. Still.

I feel like i'm on term break already. So carefree (for the mo), even though i'm behind in quite a bit of readings, and i have to do some editing on my first term paper of the semester. And i have to go through the forensics online lecture. Seems like quite a bit of work, but i feel like i've got nothing to do.

I doubt i can do the lectures tomorrow because electricity's going to be cut off for half a day (upgrading works). Anyway, I am going to have to work for forensics after all. At first i thought since i'm S/U-ing it, don't have to spend too much effort on it. Since getting a C is sufficient. Haha. Then now, guess i'll have a better chance with forensics than that silly chinese brush painting. GOT ANOTHER C! Five weeks, five Cs. Another C coming back next week i bet. At least with forensics, you can study for it. ART IS SO SUBJECTIVE. It should be that grading is based on effort together with end product, not just what looks nice to the marker. I was complaining (jokingly in jest) to ah ma, about getting another C, and she said "ler kua liao sui, pat lang kua liao bo sui!" And she asked me why i kept drawing grass. Another thing, that girl who goes for lessons even though she's not registered, is now registered! Can't help but feel like it's really unfair. Like, what, you shamelessly keep insisting on going for classes means you can get your way?! It bugs.

Feel like going to the library tomorrow. Haven't read a book for two weeks. My eyes are getting itchy. Have i mentioned i love the smell of Dettol. I find it smells so fresh and clean. And i also love the smell of Attack detergent. Smells so sweet.

Anyway exciting things happened this week! I got a custom consignment for 80 felt plushies! Which i had to refuse, because i am not a factory. These things take a lot of time and she wanted them by the 26th, which means i would have to have them done by this Saturday. Mission impossible. But still i'm glad that someone is willing to buy so many of my felts. It's good to know someone wants to buy them, even though the sale's not gone through. I did this other sale though. 8 pieces, and i sewed till 2am Tuesday morning, and was tired like anything in class later. But, good news is that woman wants to buy more custom felts (sanrio characters; i felt childish printing their pictures in the school computer lab) from me. Going to make like 3 samples for her in the weekend. Hoping for good news. Wish i can make plushies full time. Hee.

Discovered on Tuesday that the NIE canteen sells perfect breakfast at an amazing price! 2 slices of kaya bread toasted just the way i like them (slightly crispy on the outside but the bread's still very soft) with 2 nicely cooked half-boiled eggs and a mug of milk tea. At a low low price of $1.50. Saved me from embarrassing stomach growling in painting class.

My ah ma's skin is becoming so thin they tear easily. I'm scared for her. And her feet are swollen all of a sudden. :( Blabs.

Time seem to be flying. Week cinco already. Last weekend, totally did not do any readings, and now i have a ton of readings piled up. And i have to get started on my paper (waited too long and lost the link, ugh), and also get started on this stupid interview thing. But i seem to have so many other things to do. Glad to have a 2 day week. Will try to get things done asap and slack during the weekends. Anyway, quickie post.

Got back 2 more paintings. Surprise surprise, Cs again.

^ I thought my Chrysanthemums were not bad. But guess not. And, i like my red blossoms. I know both the stems suck. Haha. I hate drawing the stems, they always spoil the painting. This drawing thing, you have to be careful all the time because one wrong move, the entire thing's ruined and you have to start over. And then you might not do some parts as nice as the ruined one. Class is still the long standing period, disoriented teacher, bugger who is still attending class and that videographer. Overheard the admin person asking the prof if there are future painters in the class, and he said probably one or two. Tsk.

^ Vanilla soda Tohato. Cute packaging, so-so tasting.

^ These were the catalyst of my sore throat.

^ Some stuff i've been working on. Got some new ideas, but haven't had the chance to try them out yet.

^ Delicious ramen from Dan's birthday treat. Loved the egg! Bowl of ramen is HUGE and so much char siew. Pretty good gyozas.

^ Watched the forensics online lecture the other day. That's me lying on the bed with piglet, snacking on marshmallows, occasionally taking notes. The speaker was handy to have. If all lectures were like this, think about how environmentally friendly this will be? People don't have to travel, saving money and there will be less pollution, less fuel used. So many benefits.

^ Nell's Hammie. I didn't know sunflower seeds were bad for hamsters until yesterday. Hope poor Ham's eyes get better soon.

I have this annoying blocked nose which is inhibiting my enjoying of food! Argh. Half the time i can't taste anything. Mark your calendars for 3 Oct, mooncake fest. Hee.

Went to the doc's. The throat got progressively worse throughout the day. So i took a bus all the way down to my usual doc only to see that it is closed! They must have gone for their family holiday. Grrrr. So anyway, since i'm already at Bishan, went to another doc. I think i spent about 10 minutes in that place. Fast, no fuss. Went in, said i have a sore throat, was asked if i have fever, flu, cough or sore muscles, answered no to all those, doc told me i should wish i have H1N1 (he said then i will be immune from it next time), he pretended to hear my heartbeat (seriously! he was doing it so quick, what is there to hear?), asked if i needed a MC, and then i was out.

I wish the 7th month will be over soon. All that smoke is making my eyes watery and irritating my eyes. And, the wind is blowing all the burnt papers ashes into my house. And it means that mooncake fest is drawing near. GREEN TEA SNOW SKIN!
